PRIVACY POLICY

The Royal Tunbridge Wells Dance Festival is a competitive festival of the performing arts, run by volunteers and registered with the Charity Commission (Registered Charity No. 1088367). It is affiliated to the British & International Federation of Festivals.

This privacy policy explains how we use any personal information we collect about you. We promise to keep your data safe and private: not to sell your data: and not to share your data with third parties without your specific permission.

We collect information about you when you register to perform in the Festival, volunteer as a steward or we engage you as an adjudicator. We will only ask for such information as is necessary for the efficient administration of the festival. We do not collect ‘sensitive personal data’ unless there is a legitimate reason for this, i.e. where an entrant may need support to participate in a class. Access to this data will be restricted to those personnel who administer the Festival.

We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date and all reasonable efforts will be made to ensure this is the case. You may ask us to correct or remove information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to remove your details from our data base.

The Festival will not pass collected data to any third party unless the law requires us to do so, or, if it is to enable the Festival to fulfil its constitutional purpose. It should be noted that only names will appear in the Festival programme with the names of dance schools only shown in the group classes.

We will keep the following general entrants’ personal data for five years. After this point it will be deleted from our database and any hard copies shredded.

  • General entrants

  • Bursary Winners

  • Helpers and volunteers
