| SENIOR BURSARY AWARD |
| This Festival is delighted to offer, for the twelfth year, a Bursary Award designed to help fund the winning applicant in his/her pursuit of a stage career. The Award is supported by Kent Youth Ballet which has made a sizeable donation towards the Bursary resulting in the first prize award being a substantial sum. |

Rules
- Applicants must be aged 15 or over as at 1st January 2012 and must provide evidence that they have either
- been offered a place for the forthcoming academic year to undertake a full-time dance education
- be already undertaking a full-time dance education.
- Applicants must have performed at least one solo discipline at the Royal Tunbridge Wells Dance Festival in at least four of the previous five years (i.e. 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, or 2011).
- Applicants will be invited to enter the Bursary Class which will consist of two solos of different dance disciplines, one of which must be classical (as defined at Rule 23 of this syllabus). Each dance should be two minutes long (two and a half minutes for a song & dance or character).
- The Award will be given at the Adjudicator's discretion. The Adjudicator reserves the right not to give the Award if a suitable applicant is not found.
- The Award will be handed to winning applicants on sight of a letter of acceptance or proof of attendance on a full-time programme from the appropriate training establishment.
